About Us
Dental Community Fellowship (DCF) began at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2001 as a Christian outreach to pre-doctoral and doctoral dental students. It is chartered as a non-profit local chapter of the Christian Medical and Dental Associations (cmda.org). Several times a year trips are scheduled to foreign countries where participants are taught the use of portable equipment to render care including tooth cleaning, basic restorative care, and dental extractions. Participants from all classes are invited. Licensed dentists provide education, supervision and support.
Several times a year trips are scheduled to foreign countries where participants are instructed in the use of portable dental equipment to render treatments including preventive and basic restorative care, along with tooth removal. For many, a mission trip provides a first opportunity to put into practice knowledge that has been learned during didactic work.
